Essential measurement

We aggregate page views by stable route and section. Those rows do not contain IP address, user agent, referrer, cookie ID or search text. They are page views, not a claim about unique people.

Optional analytics

If you accept analytics, ShushMedia sets a first-party random token for up to 24 hours to estimate daily unique browsers. Only a keyed digest is stored for deduplication. Feature events are aggregate counters and are never joined to that token.

If you subscribe, we store your email address, consent and subscription timestamps, plus delivery state needed to send and retry mail. Confirmation is required and unsubscribe takes effect immediately.

Purposes and legal basis

Where GDPR or similar rules apply, optional analytics and newsletter delivery are based on your consent. Essential form protection, security and non-identifying aggregate service counters are used to operate and protect ShushMedia; the intended basis is the operator’s legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable service. This description is product documentation, not a claim of legal certification.

Retention and processors

Daily visitor deduplication values expire after 24 hours. Aggregate page-view and feature counters are retained for up to 180 days. Unconfirmed newsletter signups are removed after 7 days; unsubscribed subscriber rows after 30 days; sent/failed mail outbox records after 90 days. Cached news items older than 30 days and expired discovery records are pruned automatically. The app and PostgreSQL run on the private ShushMedia OCI network. An SMTP relay becomes a processor only when newsletter delivery is enabled.

Third-party media and source requests

Some discovery artwork is loaded from TMDB. If you choose to play radio, open a broadcaster or publisher, or open an embedded trailer, your browser connects to that third-party service and that service may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address and browser headers under its own privacy terms. ShushMedia does not use those requests to build cross-site profiles.

Your choices

You can reject or withdraw optional analytics at any time in Cookie settings. Contact the privacy address for applicable access, correction, deletion or other data-protection requests. This notice is not a claim of legal certification.
